В Украине началась регистрация кириллических доменов
Начиная с 21 январяначась регистрация доменных в новых кириллических доменных зонах .УКР и .БЛОГ.
С момента запуска приоритетных регистраций, к новым доменным зонам был проявлен очень большой интерес, как со стороны пользователей, так и со стороны киберсквоттеров.
С целью удержания массовых регистраций (сквоттинга) доменов в новых доменных зонах, было принято решение прибегнуть к общепринятой практике защиты от сквоттеров. Эта практика состоит в ценовой политике, когда цена домена приемлема для владельцев сайтов, но при этом слишком высока для сквоттеров.
В период с 21 января по 21 февраля (включительно), в этот можно будет зарегистрировать любое доменное имя в новых зонах по цене равной той, что была в период приоритетной регистрации. С 22 февраля цены на регистрацию в новых доменных зонах будут снижены до уровня остальных доменов верхнего уровня общего назначения, как и было обещано ранее.
Данная мера является эффективным методом к улучшению на качественном уровне количества сайтов в доменных зонах, более высокая цена увеличит количество «полезных» регистраций пользователями, которые хотят использовать домены по их прямому назначению, а не с целью массовой скупки с последующей перепродажей.
Доменная зона .УКР это украинская доменная зона общего назначения. В доменной зоне .УКР можно регистрировать домены, имена которых полностью написаны на кириллице, символы которой включают в себя все буквы как украинского так и русского языков.
Доменная зона .БЛОГ рассчитана на тематические сообщества и тех пользователей Интернет, которые любят вести собственные блоги или дневники. Особенностью данной доменной зоны является то, что в традиционной доменной системе на латинице не существует аналогичной зоны для ведения блогов и дневников.
На нынешнем этапе, новые доменные зоны .УКР и .БЛОГ работают по лицензии и обслуживаются корневыми серверами компании i-DNS.net которые не являются общедоступными серверами ICANN.
